COMPASSIONATE CREATIVITY
Utilizing creative methods in the therapeutic process provides an avenue through which clients can identify and channel thoughts and feelings, tell their unique story, and gain valuable insight. Creative therapy does not require that one have any artistic ability at all - only an openness and willingness to explore.
The following are just a few modalities clients find useful:
ART
SCRAPBOOKING

NATURE
Walk + Talk
"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." - John Muir
The walk and talk therapeutic approach aims to harness the mind-body connection to create a unique experience of using movement to facilitate the processing and releasing of emotions, stimulate both sides of the brain to promote and maintain mental health, and increase endorphins to trigger positive energy stimulation and reduce stress. All working in concert - the physical act of walking, the unconditional positive regard of the counselor, and the peaceful connection with nature - provides a magical combination for constructive openings, new beginnings, and empowering discoveries. When we feel stuck in a situation, literally moving forward can be a catalyst to change, propelling us into action and helping to process what is keeping us in one place.
YOGA
Utilizing a trauma-sensitive lens within a safe and structured environment, yoga can serve as a beautiful adjunct to counseling, offering a holistic approach to mental and emotional health. Through intentional breathwork, mindfulness, and asanas, the gentle practice of yoga encourages the processing and healing of past wounds, increases self-awareness, and promotes personal growth.
