about me

After earning a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Emporia State University in May of 2000, I worked and volunteered in a variety of positions, accumulating over 20 years of diverse counseling experience.  Helping others as they journey through personal grief and loss is a privilege and I sincerely thank you for trusting me with your story.

Returning to our home state of Kansas this year, I reopened my private practice, Seasons Counseling and Growth, inspired and encouraged to serve those looking for a nontraditional approach to counseling.  My practice is built upon trust and honesty, genuine concern and empathy, authenticity and creativity; through the use of outdoor trails and private neighborhood parks and paths, I literally walk alongside you on your personal life journey, striving to use movement as a literal force for change.

During my spare time, I love exploring our beloved state of Kansas with my husband and our two daughters. I am an avid runner, passionate photographer, creative artist, and aspiring writer and rarely do I go anywhere without coffee and a book in hand. Outside of time spent with family, I feel most fulfilled when listening to someone share a personal story.

Raising two active children, I understand the ongoing challenges of parenting in the age of social media, sports demands, and academic pressures and am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families unplug and reconnect. I look forward to meeting you, encouraging you, and walking with you.

grief and loss

Grief is a normal response to loss. Generally, the more significant the loss, the more intense the grief. Any loss can cause grief, not just the death of a loved one. We encounter loss throughout our lives - with change there is loss, with death there is loss, and with acts of violence there is loss. How we move through our grief is a personal journey, one unique to the loss, to the timing of the loss, and to the individual experiencing the loss. There is no timeline for grieving and there is no "right" way.

Whatever the source of your grief I am here to walk alongside you as you begin to integrate your loss into daily living, reframing grief and restoring hope so remembering becomes less raw and painful.
